Linux is a platform that has allowed many developers to create their own distributions depending on the needs of each user and due to this fact, the diversity between the different distributions is guaranteed.

A distro with plenty of multimedia tools

Dreamlinux is a very lightweight distribution, very easy to use, and with hundreds of applications available once the system's installation is finished. Among the tools that it includes we will find windows managers like Xfce 4.4.2 or Compiz-Fusion, launchers like Engage or Avant-Window-Navigator, applications to create graphics (Inkscape 0.46, Gimp 2.6, Gthumb, Xsane,...), office suites (OpenOffice, Evince, SoftMaker Office,...) and Internet utilities like Pidgin Instant Messenger, Gftp, Thunderbird Mail Client and Firefox.

One of the appealing things of this distro, apart from being very similar to OS X, lies in the great collection of tools to enjoy multimedia contents that are included with Dreamlinux like Rhythmbox, Brasero or XBMC Media Player.

If you still haven't had the opportunity to try out Linux and you want a distro that as well as power is very practical to use and includes all the tools necessary to start using them in a matter of minutes, Dreamlinux is one of the options to take into account.
